AOC Beaune Premier cru

The Beaune Premier Cru Appellation d'Origine Protégée (AOP) is one of the most prestigious appellations in France's Burgundy wine region. The terroir of AOP Beaune Premier Cru is characterized by clay-limestone soils and varied exposures, giving the wines great aromatic diversity and a unique expression of Burgundian terroir. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this terroir benefits from a continental climate with warm summers and cold winters, ideal for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.

AOP Beaune Premier Cru wines are mainly made from Pinot Noir grapes for red wines and Chardonnay for white wines. These noble grape varieties, carefully cultivated by the region's winemakers, offer wines of great elegance and complexity, with red fruit aromas for the reds and white fruit and floral notes for the whites.

Among the most famous are the climats "Les Grèves", "Les Teurons" and "Les Bressandes", which produce wines of exceptional quality, sought after by connoisseurs the world over.

The Beaune Premier Cru PDO covers around 300 hectares of vineyards, spread over the commune of Beaune and the surrounding area. Each year, this AOP produces around 12,000 hectoliters of wine, almost 90% of which are red wines.
