The Côtes de Duras PDO embodies the viticultural excellence of the Aquitaine region, located in southwest France, south of Bergerac.
The origins of the Côtes de Duras PDO go back many centuries, when the first vines were planted on the hillsides of the Dordogne and Garonne valleys. However, it was in the Middle Ages that viticulture acquired its letters of nobility, under the impetus of Benedictine monks who contributed to the development of vineyards.
The Côtes de Duras terroir is remarkably diverse, characterized by clay-limestone, clay-silica and clay-gravel soils, conducive to the cultivation of emblematic grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. The temperate oceanic climate, influenced by the proximity of the Atlantic, offers warm summers and mild winters, conducive to optimal grape ripening.

The wines of the Côtes de Duras PDO are distinguished by their elegance and aromatic complexity. The reds, made mainly from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, reveal notes of ripe red fruit, licorice and spices, while the whites, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, seduce with their freshness and liveliness, with aromas of citrus and white flowers.
