Domaine Le Conte des Floris

The Domaine le Conte des Floris is a magnificent 7-hectare wine estate created in 2000 in Pezenas. The winery, where vinification and ageing take place, is right in the heart of the village of Pézenas. This flagship Languedoc estate has been organic (... ecocert....) and biodynamic (Demeter) since 2017: it produces some of the finest reds and whites in the region.

The organic wines from domaine Le Conte des Floris blossom exceptionally with age. Don't hesitate to give them several years of cellaring, including the whites, to enjoy their complexity.

The essence of the estate's work is to express its terroir to the full, trying to be as hands-off as possible in both vineyard and cellar.

Several cuvées are available at domaine le Conte des Floris:

6 Rah Noirs, a surah-based cuvée, with floral notes and resting on silky tannins.

Villafranchien, based on grenache, on greediness and roundness.

Carbonifère, based on syrah, with spicy, licorice notes. This cuvée often requires a little more time to blossom.

Pleine lune is a complex, balanced white, both rich and fresh.

White moon is a great organic wine for ageing, made from white carignan. To be enjoyed over 10 years or more.

Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 on the domaine du Conte des Floris: "Daniel Le Conte de Floris created this 7-hectare estate in 2000, in the communes of Pézenas, Caux and Gabian, after an initial career in journalism. The influence of Burgundy, the region where the winemaker trained, can be felt in his winemaking choices. Real choices, from the use of white carignan, to fine parcel selections, or long ageing on lees, have quickly made the domaine the talk of the town. The style is always fresh, digestible and precise, with controlled alcohols and delicate matter. Expressions of terroir shine through, and the high standards seen in previous editions are confirmed. Even greater after a few years, the wines will reward the most patient."
