Discover our wide range of organic and natural wines from the Rhône Valley
Organic wines from the Rhône Valley are a great success thanks to their gourmet appeal. The whites are very fruity and expressive, the reds supple and fruity.
There are two main wine-growing regions in the Rhône Valley: the Southern Rhône and the Northern Rhône.The Southern Rhône is symbolized by Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the most renowned AOC of Southern Rhône Valley wines. For their part, the wines of the northern Rhône valley are symbolized by Côtes-Rôties.
Grenache is the grape variety emblematic of the wines of the southern Rhône Valley: it gives rise to wines that are fruity, full-bodied, low in acidity and powerful. Over time, aromas of smoke and leather develop.
Syrah is the king of Northern Rhône Valley wines. Syrah-based wines are powerful, with floral (violet) and spicy (pepper, zan) notes. They have a fine tannic structure.
Of course, this vision of the Rhône Valley is simplistic: we find other grape varieties to the north, such as viognier, roussane and marsanne for whites, and to the south, such as mourvèdre, carignan and also syrah.
Some partner estates in the Rhône Valley:Domaine Laurent Combier, Domaine François Villard, Domaine de la Mordorée, Domaine Richaud, Domaine Pique Basse, Domaine des 3 Celliers, Domaine Usseglio, domaine de la Réméjeanne
Profusion of great gourmet wines
Other than Côtes-Rôties, the main AOCs of the northern Côtes du Rhône are Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Condrieu, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas.
In the southern Côtes du Rhône, other renowned AOCs include Gigondas, Vacqueras, Rasteau, Lirac, Tavel (which produces rosés only).
Excellent value for money abounds among the wines of the Rhône Valley: we can mention the wines of the Estezargues winemakers, gourmet and always wise in price, the great Cairanne wines of Marcel Richaud, the sumptuous Gigondas of the Domaine de la Croix des Pins or the elegance of the wines of the Domaine Rouge Garance. Further north, you absolutely must try the Crozes-Hermitage from domaine Combier or the Côtes-Rôties from domaine Clusel-Roch, of rare finesse.
