Mas de la Seranne

Mas de la Seranne in a few words...

Le Mas de la Séranne (named after the range of hills opposite) is located in Aniane ( a very old wine-growing village) 30 km N.W of Montpellier. La Séranne is the first foothill overlooking the Montpellier coastline, and gives its name to the estate. Jean-Pierre Venture took over the family vineyards in 1998. Initially, Le Mas de la Séranne covered just 5 hectares. Gradually, thanks to hard work, the estate grew through the acquisition of smaller parcels to now reach a surface area of around 16ha.

Le Mas de la Séranne has been organically farmed since 2012 and has 3 very different terroirs: yellow marls, ancient terraces of the Hérault river as well as fluvio-glacial pebbles.... As a result, he produces magnificent Languedoc bio and Terrasses du Larzac bio wines. The wines are excellent value for money and, for the most ambitious, have good ageing potential.

Les cuvées du Mas de la Seranne

A l'ombre du Figuier is the first cuvée from Mas de la Séranne: an organic wine of immediate pleasure, a fruity and approachable buddy wine.

The cuvée les Griottiers has more complexity: it develops on notes of Morello cherries, red fruits. Its structure is supple and greedy.

The Clos des immortelles is a magnificent cuvée from Mas de la Séranne: offered at an estate price, it is long and racy, complex on notes of black fruits, sweet spices. Very good length for this charming cuvée.

Antonin et Louis is a more structured cuvée: cut out for ageing, it needs a few years in the cellar to fully express itself. A Terrasse du Larzac at its best.

Bonnaventura is the estate's grand cuvée: built for ageing, it possesses great complexity and elegance.
