Domaine Canet Valette

The Domaine Canet Valette is a winery located in Cessenon-sur-Orb, in the Hérault department of France. It was founded in 1992 by Marc Valette, a passionate winemaker who has always been committed to producing authentic, quality wines. He took over the estate from his grandfather, decided to stop selling grapes to the cooperative and produce his own bottles, and converted the estate to organic farming in 1999 - in short, a life well lived!

The Domaine Canet Valette now extends over 25 hectares of vines, planted on clay-limestone and schist soils. The grape varieties grown are mainly syrah, grenache noir, carignan noir, mourvèdre and cinsault.

The wines of Domaine Canet Valette are vinified in the traditional way, without the use of synthetic chemicals. They are aged in concrete vats and French oak barrels. Le domaine Canet Valette produces wines capable of superbly weathering the years for the most ambitious.

The domaine produces a range of red, white and rosé wines, all from the Saint-Chinian appellation. The red wines are appreciated for their fruitiness, freshness and complexity.

Une et mille Nuits is a supple, gourmet red Saint-Chinian, a benchmark in this appellation. Versatile, it can be enjoyed with white and red meats.

Ivresse is a supple, intense Grenache-based organic red wine. With its silky texture, this magnificent red is ideal with spicy dishes.

Cuvée Maghani is the grand cuvée of Le domaine Canet Valette, powerful and racy, it's a Saint-Chinian built for aging. Serve it with duck confit or shoulder of lamb!

Guide RVF des meilleurs vins de France 2024: 1*/3 (star in the making): The dark, powerful reds immediately caught the eye of colleagues and consumers alike. Very long ageing (3 years for the Cuvée Maghani) accompanies "raw" materials, as we say of art brut. An estate that has never been in better shape than it is today.

La Revue du Vin de France n°640 (April 2020): Passion according to Saint-Chinian. "He was one of the first to give Saint-Chinian, and more broadly the Languedoc, its letters of nobility. [...] His latest vintages have enchanted us with their silkiness"
