AOC Graves

The Graves region is located south of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Garonne River. It is characterized by a soil composed of gravel, i.e. deposits of gravel and pebbles, resting on poor, well-drained soils. These soils favor grape ripening and impart fruity, floral aromas.

The Graves appellation is divided into two categories:

Graves: this category includes red, white and rosé wines. Red wines are predominantly made from Merlot, to which Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are added. White wines are dominated by Semillon, complemented by Sauvignon and Muscadelle.

Graves supérieures: this category comprises white wines only. Graves supérieures wines are produced from grapes harvested at over-ripeness, which gives them a mellow or syrupy character.

Graves supérieures: this category includes only white wines.

We offer organic wines from domaine Bichon Cassignol, Chateau de L'hospital or Chateau Lusseau.
