AOP Nuits Saint Georges in a few words
The AOC Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of the best known in Burgundy. The wines produced, mostly reds (98%), are powerful, very well-built and can age remarkably well for the best. Like all the great red Burgundies, Nuits-Saint-Georges is made from pinot noir.

The wines of Nuits-Saint-Georges have a real kinship with those of Gevrey-Chambertin in their beautiful tannic structure and great ageing capacity. In my opinion, they are a little more feminine than the Gevrey wines, which I generally find wilder.

The cuvée village du Domaine Henri Gouges is made from a selection of 7 different terroirs, over 3 hectares. The estate's wines are frank and generous, but require a few years to come into their own, 5 to 7 years minimum for the villages. A magnificent bottle to cellar!

Aux Saint Juliens from domaine Georges Chicotot is a superb Nuits tout en finesse. A subtle wine with very fine tannins, Fine, delicate floral (peony) and cherry aromas, on the nose as well as the palate. It's even lacy on the palate, with beautiful persistence. Ideal with white meats.

Papillons de Nuys from Domaine Chicotot is a magnificent Nuits-Saint-Georges from vines over 80 years old. A deep wine with elegant tannins, on floral notes of peony and violet, we also find, notes of very greedy red berries.

Nuits premier Cru Les Pruliers covers 1.8 hectares and enjoys an ideal location and sunshine in the heart of the vineyard. These vines give body to wines with aromas of wild fruit, venison, imbued with a great deal of minerality.
