Clos Puy Arnaud
Le Clos Puy Arnaud in a few words....
Clos Puy Arnaud is located in the Côtes de Castillon appellation on a clay over limestone plateau overlooking the Dordogne valley in the geological continuity of Saint-Émilion's best plateau terroirs.
Taken over in 2000 by Thierry Valette (former co-owner of Château Pavie 1er cru classé in Saint-Émilion), the Clos Puy Arnaud vineyard has been farmed organically without certification since 2001.
From 2000 to 2004 Stéphane Derenoncourt was the property's consultant.
The transition to biodynamic viticulture took place during the winter of 2004-2005 with Anne Calderoni as consultant.
The Clos Puy Arnaud certification process began in 2006.
Thierry Valette masterfully manages the Clos Puy Arnaud. Thanks to biodynamic viticulture and excellent winemaking, he produces wines of great breed and high refinement. Fruity when young, they reveal their full complexity after a few years of cellaring. The Clos Puy Arnaud is for us one of the best value for money on the right bank.
