Domaine de Chiroulet

The Domaine de Chiroulet is a winery located in Larroque-sur-l'Osse, in the Gers department, France. It has been owned by the Fezas family since 1893, and is now run by Philippe Fezas, the fifth generation of winemakers. The estate covers 40 hectares of vines, planted on clay-limestone soils. The grape varieties grown are cabernet sauvignon, merlot, tannat, gros manseng, sauvignon and ugni blanc.

The domaine produces a range of white, red and rosé wines, as well as flocs de Gascogne, Armagnacs and fruit brandies. Domaine de Chiroulet is located on the hillsides of Gascony, at an altitude of 150 to 200 meters. The soils are clay-limestone, with a strong presence of marl. This terroir is ideal for growing vines, as it allows the grapes to ripen slowly and develop complex aromas.

The Chiroulet estate has converted to organic farming for its reds since the 2021 vintage.

The Domaine de Chiroulet was founded in 1893 by Jean-Baptiste Fezas. He was a passionate winegrower who developed the estate and made it known beyond the borders of the Gers. In 1946, the estate was taken over by Jean Fezas, Jean-Baptiste's son. Under his management, the estate continued to develop and modernize. In 1993, Philippe Fezas, Jean-Baptiste's grandson, took over the reins of the estate. Today, he is at the head of the estate and continues the work of his ancestors, focusing on producing quality wines from a unique terroir.
