Domaine de Chiroulet - IGP Gascogne - Terres Blanches 2025

(Réf : TERRESBLANCHES25)

Les Terres Blanches 2025 is Domaine Chiroulet’s signature dry white wine — "the mineral and floral expression of the limestone terroirs of the Ténarèze," for over 25 years.

The color is a crystalline pale yellow with green highlights. The nose is delicate and intense, with notes of acacia flowers, wild peach, and citrus. The palate is precise and straightforward, with a lovely richness in the mid-palate and a very fresh, mineral, and briny finish. Serve at 10–12 °C.

50% Gros Manseng, 35% Sauvignon, 10% Ugni Blanc from old vines, organic since 2018, white calcareous clays of Ténarèze, Larroque-sur-l’Osse. Cellar protected from oxygen; aged for 8 months on fine lees with regular stirring.

Hachette Guide: 1 star. Aging potential: 3–4 years.

The Chiroulet Estate owes its name to the wind—the “chiroula” in Gascon dialect, that dry, invigorating wind that sweeps across the hillsides of Larroque-sur-l’Osse in the Gers, a valuable ally that naturally cleanses the vineyards and prevents the spread of fungal diseases. Since 1970, the Fezas family has been cultivating these 40 hectares facing due south on the clay-limestone highlands of the Ténarèze, in the heart of Armagnac. In 1993, Philippe Fezas—an agricultural engineer and trained oenologist—took over the estate with a firm conviction: “France’s great white wines come from limestone terroirs.” The transition to organic farming began in 2018.

Les Terres Blanches is the estate’s signature dry white cuvée—with “purity of aromatic expression” as its constant goal. Gros Manseng (50%), Sauvignon (35%), and old-vine Ugni Blanc (10%), grown on the estate’s finest white limestone-clay soils. Traditional winemaking in a cellar designed to shield the wine from oxygen began in 2010, followed by 8 months of aging on fine lees with regular stirring—to develop richness and texture without ever masking the terroir’s natural freshness.

The 2025 reveals notes of acacia, wild peach, and citrus, with a precise and straightforward palate and a mineral, salty finish.

Serve at 10–12 °C. Pairings: oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, salads. Aging potential: 3–4 years.
