The terroir of Pauillac

Pauillac wines are produced on poor soils composed of gravel and sand. The AOC covers 1100 hectares in the heart of the Haut Médoc. Pauillac wines are made mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon, a great grape variety for ageing, which produces powerful wines developing on notes of cedar and blackcurrant in particular.
