The Appellation d'Origine Protégée (AOP) Rully is a winegrowing gem nestled in the heart of France's Burgundy wine region. The terroir of AOP Rully is characterized by clay-limestone soils and well-exposed hillsides, ideal for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Located in the Côte Chalonnaise region, this terroir benefits from a semi-continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters, which allow the grapes to ripen slowly and progressively, delivering wines of great finesse and aromatic complexity.
The wines of AOP Rully are made from the emblematic grape varieties of Burgundy, namely Chardonnay for white wines and Pinot Noir for red wines. These grape varieties, carefully cultivated by the region's winemakers, offer wines of great expressiveness and typicity, fully reflecting the terroir of Rully.
The Rully PDO is distinguished by its diversity of crus, ranging from dry, mineral whites to elegant, fruity reds, sparkling wines and rosés. Each of Rully's climates, whether classified as village or premier cru, offers wines of great personality, seducing wine lovers the world over with their quality and uniqueness.
The Rully PDO covers around 400 hectares of vineyards, spread over several communes in the Côte Chalonnaise region. Each year, this AOP produces around 20,000 hectoliters of wine, of which almost 70% are white wines. AOP Rully wines are distinguished by their elegance, freshness and ability to age gracefully, offering a palette of flavors that will delight the most discerning palates.
The wines of the Rully PDO stand out for their quality and unique character, reflecting the richness and diversity of the Côte Chalonnaise terroir. The whites, made from Chardonnay, offer aromas of white fruit, citrus and white flowers, with freshness and minerality.
