The Domaine des Marrans vineyard is located in the hilly area surrounding the village of Fleurie, in northern Beaujolais. This area is characterized by a combination of moderate slopes, varied exposure and granitic soils that are particularly favorable to the cultivation of Gamay. The parcels of Domaine des Marrans benefit from a natural environment that favors gradual ripening of the grapes, resulting in wines that are both aromatic and structured.

The soils of Fleurie are predominantly composed of weathered pink granites, sometimes mixed with sands derived from their decomposition. This geological composition ensures efficient drainage and naturally limits vine vigor. Roots can penetrate deep into the substrate, contributing to the regularity of ripening and the aromatic complexity of the wines. The Domaine des Marrans relies on this geological base to produce cuvees that clearly convey the identity of the Fleurie cru.
