PDO Aloxe-Corton

AOP Aloxe-Corton is a French appellation d'origine contrôlée for red wines produced in the Côte-d'Or department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. It is located in the communes of Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny and Pernand-Vergelesses, just north of Beaune. The appellation was created in 1938 and covers an area of 280 hectares. The main authorized grape variety is pinot noir, which must account for at least 90% of the blend.

AOP Aloxe-Corton wines are characterized by a deep ruby-red color, aromas of red and black fruits, violets and leather, and a long, powerful finish. AOP Aloxe-Corton wines are wines for laying down, able to keep for several decades.

AOP Aloxe-Corton wines go well with red meats, game and cheeses.

In 2023, the organic share of the Aloxe-Corton PDO is 10%. This represents around 28 hectares of organically grown vines.
