Chapel House

The Domaine Maison de la Chapelle, located in Irancy, Burgundy, is a winery renowned for its authentic, expressive wines. Nestled in the heart of the Irancy vineyards, this estate embodies Burgundian exellence, while adopting environmentally friendly farming practices.

Irancy is a picturesque winegrowing village located in the Yonne region, south of Auxerre and close to Chablis. Irancy's vineyards are planted mainly on south- and southwest-facing slopes, benefiting from optimal sunshine. The region's soils are mainly composed of limestone and marl, typical of Burgundy terroirs, offering excellent drainage capacity and favoring optimal grape ripeness.

The Domaine Maison de la Chapelle takes its name from a nearby historic chapel, adding a touch of heritage and history to this wine estate. The current owners, passionate about viticulture and attached to their terroir, have taken steps to modernize production techniques while respecting local traditions.

The Domaine Maison de la Chapelle produces red Irancy from the Pinot Noir grape, which is emblematic of Burgundy. The estate's wines are distinguished by their structure, elegance and complex aromas. They often feature notes of red fruit (cherry, raspberry), black fruit (blackberry), as well as spicy and earthy nuances.

The estate also produces a magnificent Bourgogne Aligoté that's well worth a visit!

The Domaine Maison de la Chapelle is firmly committed to organic viticulture practices. This approach aims to promote biodiversity, improve soil health and produce grapes of the highest quality without the use of synthetic chemicals. Techniques used include organic fertilization, mechanical weeding and the use of natural preparations to protect the vines against disease and pests.

The wines of Domaine Maison de la Chapelle are renowned for their authenticity and their ability to faithfully reflect the terroir of Irancy. They offer aromatic complexity and tannic structure that enable them to age admirably. On the palate, the wines are well-balanced, with good acidity and fine tannins, finishing with pleasant length. The estate's reds are the perfect match for meat dishes, roast poultry and mature cheeses.
