Le Clos des Quarterons, located in the heart of the Bourgueil appellation, is an emblematic Loire estate. Managed by the Amirault family for several generations, it is now run by Xavier and Agnès Amirault, who perpetuate a respectful approach to terroir and winemaking traditions. Strongly committed to organic and biodynamic farming, the domaine produces authentic wines that accurately reflect the identity of the Bourgueil terroirs. With a philosophy turned towards nature, the Clos des Quarterons crafts cuvées of great purity, where the expression of Cabernet Franc is sublimated. Thanks to meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar, each wine reveals remarkable depth and elegance, making the estate an essential reference in the region.
The Bourgueil appellation benefits from a temperate oceanic climate, influenced by the Loire, which favors slow, gradual ripening of the Cabernet Franc grape. This mild climate produces fresh, elegant wines with a fine tannic structure. The estate's soils are predominantly composed of tuffeau, sand and gravel, offering great diversity of expression to Cabernet Franc. This unique terroir enables us to produce wines with varied profiles, from the fruitiest and most accessible to the deepest and most structured.
The Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil produced by the estate are beautifully straightforward and clean. Le Clos des Quarterons produces lovely Loire wines at affordable prices.
Thanks to its commitment to clean viticulture and precise vinification, the Clos des Quarterons is now recognized as one of Bourgueil's finest producers. Its cuvées, appreciated for their authenticity and finesse, appeal equally to lovers of elegant wines and enthusiasts of great Loire reds. Xavier and Agnès Amirault have succeeded in imposing a unique signature, emphasizing the identity of the terroir and favoring natural vinification. The domaine demonstrates that Bourgueil can rival the greatest red wines, while retaining its accessibility and legendary drinkability.
