The domaine du Clos Roussely was created by Vincent Roussely, a dynamic young winemaker, near Chenonceaux. The quality terroir is organically farmed to produce precise, incisive whites of the highest quality, and gourmet, fruity reds. The Clos Roussely estate is making rapid progress. Don't delay, prices are very reasonable!
Vincent Roussely is a local winemaker who grew up in a family of winegrowers. He studied viticulture and oenology, and worked in several estates before embarking on his own adventure.
The Clos Roussely estate covers 9 hectares of vines, spread over the terroirs of the Loire Valley in Touraine. The soils are mainly sand and clay, giving the wines their unique character. Domaine du Clos Roussely's organic white wines are made from Sauvignon Blanc, for Touraine le Clos and Touraine-Chenonceux. The estate's red wines are not to be outdone, with a cuvée canaille from gamay and the red Touraine-Chenonceaux, based on cabernet franc.

The Clos Roussely cuvées
The Clos du domaine du Clos Roussely is a magnificent Sauvignon that makes many of the region's Sancerres jealous: the well-ripened grape is very expressive and greedy.
Canaille is a thirst-quenching red: crisp, this gamay-based wine is light and approachable. It's a wine for white meats and charcuterie.
The touraine Chenonceaux from the Clos Roussely estate is more taut and airy; it deserves a few months to develop all its aromas.
The cuvées Irréductibles are sulfur-free but clean. The white is aged in terracotta jars and has a lovely roundness for a Sauvignon. Irreductible rouge is fruity and greedy, a great success!

The palate has superb, very silky substance, developing on notes of small strawberries, raspberry; the wine benefits from a lovely overall freshness; A very fine success to be drunk over 2-3 years.
