CloseThe Domaine Ogereau in a few words...
Le Domaine Ogereau is a magnificent Loire estate run using organic farming methods. Le Domaine Ogereau is a family vineyard located in the Anjou wine region. It is located in the village of Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay, in the department of Maine-et-Loire.
The Ogereau estate has been run by the Ogereau family since the 17th century, with a winemaking tradition that goes back over 250 years. Today, it is run by Emmanuel Ogereau, who represents the family's 9th generation of winemakers.
The Ogereau estate covers around 30 hectares and has been farmed according to organic principles since 2005. The grape varieties grown are mainly Chenin for dry and sweet whites, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon for reds and rosés. Three main appellations share the estate: Anjou Villages on the "Côte de la Houssaye", Savennières on the Clos "Le Grand Beaupréau" and Coteaux du Layon Saint Lambert on "Le Clos des Bonnes blanches".
Organic wines from the domaine Ogereau are characterized by their great purity and precision. The dry and sweet white wines are straightforward and complex, the red wine intense and gourmand. Domaine Ogereau's organic wines are benchmarks in the Loire region.
Guide des meilleurs vins de France concerning Domaine Ogereau, 1 star:" Vincent Ogereau is partnered by his son Emmanuel, with a solid international background, determined to pursue the path of great terroir chenins, both dry and sweet. The Ogereau estate rigorously harvests healthy grapes (without botrytis on the dry ones) and offers a wide, tricolored and homogeneous range, reflecting the mosaic of schists."
