Domaine Julien Auroux

The Julien Auroux estate in a few words....

Julien Auroux settled in the Bergerac region in 2014 with his wife Charlotte, who joined him a few years later.

Terroiriste, Julien Auroux works his soils organically and ages the wines in the cellar without wood and in a non-interventionist way.

The Domaine Julien Auroux is a family estate located in Saint-Aubin-de-Cadelech, near Bergerac, in the Dordogne valley. The Bergerac region, often less well known than its Bordeaux neighbor, nonetheless boasts a long winemaking tradition. The region's clay-limestone soils, combined with a temperate oceanic climate, provide ideal conditions for growing red grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, as well as white grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.

Since its creation, Domaine Julien Auroux has always focused on environmentally-friendly growing methods. The estate is in conversion to organic viticulture, a natural step for Julien, who wishes to produce wines without chemical inputs while promoting biodiversity in his vineyards. With a deep respect for his terroir, Julien Auroux practises viticulture in which every intervention is carefully thought out to preserve the quality of the soil and the health of the vines. This meticulous work is reflected in every bottle, where we perceive all the richness and diversity of Bergerac terroirs.

The range of Domaine Julien Auroux wines is superb: Blablabla is a thirst-quenching wine, a 100% merlot buddy wine, greedy and fresh.

The Bergerac domaine is a blend of grape varieties (merlot, malbec, cabernet) that produces a structured wine, full of personality and capable of aging over 4-5 years.

Sans bois ni loi is a Merlot aged 24 months in vats: it comes in white and red, the idea being to offer a gourmet wine that isn't made up by wood.

Finally, we loved the Côtes de Bergerac moelleux from domaine Julien Auroux, a model of balance, gourmand without ever falling into heaviness. Superb!"Revue du vin de France, about Domaine Julien Auroux: Vigneron de demain: "Julien Auroux approaches the future with serenity, seeking to deliver the best expression of his soils. Far from trying to ape the reds of Bordeaux, he has embarked on the path of salinity, of frank and precise aromatic expression, using indigenous yeast, with little or no sulfur added."

Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 on the Julien Auroux estate: "Bergerac, extreme southeast of the appellation: from his plots on the limestone plateau and deep-clay slopes, worked organically, Julien Auroux approaches the future with serenity. His wines have turned their backs on the Bergerac past, which sought to ape the reds of Bordeaux by forgetting the soil. He, on the contrary, is committed to salinity, frank and precise aromatic expression, with indigenous yeast and almost no added sulfur. He rehabilitates grapes from the past for a return to the future."

Domaine Julien Auroux Bergerac - domaine blanc 2024

The Bergerac blanc du domaine Julien Auroux has a nose is gourmand on notes of pear and light toasted notes. The palate combines tension and gourmandise: the body is round, ripe, enveloping, with notes of white fruit roasted in butter and enhanced by spices. Powerful, concentrated finish.
