Elian Da Ros Estate

The Elian Da Ros estate in a nutshell....

The domaine Elian Da Ros produces some of the most interesting organic wines in the South-West. In an appellation more than 95% dominated by a cooperative, Domaine Elian Da Ros produces some real organic nuggets. Unfortunately, bottles are sometimes hard to come by! An estate where the majority of cuvées are certified organic.

Élian Da Ros's meticulous work in the vineyard has given letters of nobility to a little-known appellation that worked primarily with its cooperative winery. The estate's different cuvées correspond to different terroirs and grape varieties.

Since the creation of the estate in the 1990s, Elian Da Ros has imposed his style by emphasizing organic and biodynamic viticulture, with the aim of revealing all the richness and uniqueness of this still little-known appellation. With precise vinifications and a deep respect for the living, Domaine Elian Da Ros wines aptly translate the identity of local grape varieties such as Abouriou, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah, giving rise to elegant, expressive and vibrant cuvées.

The Domaine Elian Da Ros extends over 22 hectares of vines, nestled between the Garonne valley and the clay-limestone hillsides of the Marmandais region. This unique terroir allows the local grape varieties to express themselves fully, while preserving their freshness and balance. The Côtes-du-Marmandais appellation benefits from a temperate oceanic climate with a strong continental influence, favoring slow, balanced ripening. This particular climate enables the grapes to acquire a fine aromatic concentration while retaining a refreshing acidity. The estate's soils are diversified, combining clay, limestone and gravel, offering a wide variety of expressions. The clay-limestone terroirs bring structure and depth to the wines, while the gravels favor elegance and aromatic finesse.

A hard worker and advocate of organic viticulture, Élian Da Ros produces a range of organic red, white and rosé wines to drink on the fruit for his cuvée Le vin est une fête or to keep for a few years for Chante coucou or Clos Baquey, for example. The wines produced are powerful and spicy in red, with excellent length.

The domaine Élian Da Ros is one of the finest organic estates in the South-West in terms of the quality and originality of the wines produced.

Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2022: "Whites , reds or even rosés, from thirst-quenching gourmet wines to ambitious wines worked and aged in wood, which require cellar aging, all deserve to be discovered for their assertive and honest temperament."
