AOP Gevrey-Chambertin in a few words
Gevrey-Chambertin is a prestigious red wine produced in the Burgundy region of France. It is made from Pinot Noir grapes and is produced in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation d'origine contrôlée, which is located in the Côte de Nuits, south of the city of Dijon.
The Gevrey-Chambertin vineyard covers an area of around 430 hectares, with annual production of around 2.5 million bottles. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the wine is aged in oak barrels for a period ranging from 12 to 18 months before bottling.
Gevrey-Chambertin is a deep, complex red wine, with aromas of red fruits, spices, undergrowth and truffles. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, with firm tannins and a silky texture. This wine can be enjoyed young, but is also capable of aging for several years, developing more complex aromas and a richer texture.
Burgundy's organic wines are in the spotlight at ardoneo with Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine Trapet , Hubert Lignier and Jean Fournier
