AOC Saint Péray

Saint-Peray, an exceptional terroir for unique white wines

AOC Saint-Péray is a French wine appellation located in the Rhône-Alpes region, on the right bank of the Rhône, some 30 kilometers north of Valence. It is renowned for its dry white wines, made from Marsanne and Roussanne grapes.

The Saint-Péray vineyard covers 80 hectares, on steep, southeast-facing slopes. The soils are granitic and schistose, giving the wines a characteristic minerality. The climate is continental, with Mediterranean influences. Organic farming is booming in the Saint-Péray AOC. In 2023, around 20% of the vineyard area will be certified organic, i.e. some 16 hectares.

Marsanne is the main grape variety in the Saint-Péray appellation. It gives the wines their structure, power and aromas of white fruits and almonds. Roussanne brings finesse, elegance and floral aromas to the wines.

The white wines of Saint-Péray are characterized by their straw-yellow color, their complex nose of white fruit, white flowers and gunflint aromas, and their full, fleshy mouthfeel. They are endowed with fine acidity and a long finish.
