The Marcel Lapierre estate is a benchmark for organic Morgon wines. For thirty years, Marcel and then his son Mathieu and daughter Camille have been working their vines organically. The aim is to produce wine that is as respectful as possible of fruit and terroir.
Marcel Lapierre was a visionary winemaker who helped change the way Beaujolais wine was produced. He was one of the first to adopt biodynamic practices in his vineyards, and was a fervent advocate of natural winemaking. For over 30 years, Domaine Marcel Lapierre has been producing the finest natural organic wines in Beaujolais.
The Marcel Lapierre estate covers 13 hectares, producing an average of 80,000 bottles of red wine per vintage. The vineyard, planted exclusively with Gamay Noir grapes, is made up of old vines with an average age of 60 years, including 2 hectares in the prestigious Côte du Py sector, which is one of the best terroirs in Morgon.

The cuvée Camille is a parcellaire, endowed with more structure. It needs a few years of cellaring to blossom.
The cuvée MMXXII is the domaine's grand cuvée, a great natural Gamay cut for ageing. Length and complexity make this a great gastronomic Beaujolais.
Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 concernant le domaine Marcel Lapierre : "Since Marcel Lapierre passed away, his wife Marie, son Mathieu and daughter Camille have perpetuated the spirit of the "nature" wines he pioneered. The Lapierre family's strength lies in their very fine parcels of land, cultivated organically since 1981, which enable them to create a Morgon that is representative of the appellation, complemented by a "sans soufre" for immediate pleasure and a more confidential Julienas. To meet demand, the domaine also buys in grapes. The wine is aged without sulfur for an average of nine months, in barrels ranging from three to thirteen years old, as well as in venerable foudres. The domaine has entered an era that allows us to produce "natural" wines with regularity, without overflowing."
