Domaine Etienne Loew

The Domaine Etienne Loew in a few words...

The domaine Etienne Loew is one of Alsace's finest estates: the wines produced naturally are fine, elegant and, above all, devilishly precise! In 1996, Etienne Loew took over this estate, which has been in the family since the 18th century. Respect for terroir and the living world is a priority for this highly talented winemaker. As a result, the Etienne Loew estate is run using biodynamic methods, with minimal intervention in vinification and minimal use of sulfur! Rarely have we tasted such precise, slender natural wines. The whole range is worthy of note, from the very elegant first cuvées villages, to the ambitious and profound grand crus.

Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2020 about Domaine Etienne Loew: 2-star domaine "His touch is sure, his thinking open, and his wines stand out for their elegance, with a range that has become increasingly homogeneous over the years. A few sulfur-free cuvées stand out, with pinot noir remaining the safe bet."

Domaine Etienne Loew Alsace - Pinot Gris Grand Cru Engelberg 2019

With the Pinot Gris Grand Cru du domaine Etienne Loew, Pinot gris grand cru ENGELBERG, we're in the upper part of the Engelberg grand cru with a muschelkalck veneer on Oolythic limestone pebbles. The vines, planted in 1989, are in their prime. This situation allows for physiological ripeness with lower alcoholic potential. This terroir always produces easily digestible wines. The wine is opulent and rich, with smoky, toasty notes. Conversely, the palate is all finesse, minerality and straightforwardness.Close
