The Domaine de la Taille aux Loups in a few words....
Le Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is located on the banks of the Loire and Cher rivers, on south-facing limestone slopes. The estate extends over 25 hectares of very old Chenin vines, enabling us to produce Vouvray and Montlouis-sur-Loire sparkling, dry, semi-dry, sweet and sometimes syrupy wines with perfect respect for the vintage.
The Domaine de la Taille aux Loups has been in organic conversion since 2012 by Jacky Blot. The domaine is recognized as one of the very best in the Loire, with the Guide Bettane et Dessauve awarding it the maximum rating of 5 stars.
The Domaine de la Taille aux Loups was, like many, badly affected by the frost in 2016, a year of almost zero harvest. Nevertheless, Jacky Blot continues his demanding and precise work to produce some of the finest Montlouis. The white wines are aged in barrels (new and several wines).

The cuvée Remus du Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is a superb Montlouis-sur-Loire, fine and chiseled. The Remus+ cuvée has changed its name to Les Hauts de Husseau.
Clos Michet comes from a second pass through the vines, to obtain richer, more concentrated grapes.
The Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is also known for its bubbles, which Jacky Blot knows how to magnify like no one else: the Montlouis tradition is a magnificent Montlouis, fine and elegant. Triple zéro is the domaine's top-of-the-range cuvée, long and complex, rivaling many champagnes.
Le Clos de Mosny is a Montlouis built for long ageing, to be left undisturbed for over 10 years in the cellar.

Remus 2025 is a full-bodied dry Montlouis from the Domaine de la Taille aux Loups — "a superb example of balance, with a clean attack, rich on the palate, and a multitude of sensations of freshness, bitterness, and fullness. It’s a great Chenin.”
The color is a brilliant pale gold. The nose is delicate with notes of pear, lime, and quince, pronounced minerality, and a light touch of verbena and ginger. The palate is full-bodied and creamy; a decidedly dry Chenin with tension throughout the tasting and a long, briny finish. Serve at 11–12 °C.
100% organic Chenin Blanc, 50–80-year-old vines, Montlouis clay-limestone soil, yield 20 hl/ha. Slow fermentation with native yeasts in barrels, aged for 1 year.
5★/5 Bettane+Desseauve. Aging potential: 2027–2037.

Triple Zéro du Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is the benchmark bubbly on Montlouis. This grand chenin is not dosed. The result is an airy, complex bubble that needs a few years to fully reveal itself. Worthy of a very good champagne. Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2017 : 15/20
La cuvée Rémus du Domaine de la Taille aux Loups possesses a lovely nose of white-fleshed fruit (peach, apricot) and flowers (acacia). The palate is taut, lively and elegant. is a 100% Cabernet Franc non-dosed natural sparkling wine. This Triple Zéro cuvée takes its name from zero chaptalization, zero liqueur de tirage and zero liqueur d'expédition. The nose develops fruity notes of wild strawberry and raspberry. The palate is greedy, with a fresh finish. A fine, racy cuvée.

Les Hauts de Husseau 2024 is the great dry parcel cuvée from Domaine de la Taille aux Loups - the former Remus Plus. Organic Chenin Blanc on the highest slopes of Montlouis, clay-siliceous soil with flint on limestone bedrock. Straightforward, taut, mineral, with remarkable intensity and persistence. Drink between 2025 and 2039.

The cuvée La Bretonnière from Domaine de la Taille aux Loups comes from vines on the right bank of the Loire. For recent administrative reasons, the Vouvray AOC is no longer possible for this wine, as it is vinified in Montlouis! It is therefore presented to you as a simple Vin de France. The result is exceptional, as is often the case with Jacky Blot wines!
