Domaine de la Bonne Tonne

Le domaine de la Bonne Tonne in a few words....

Le Domaine de la Bonne Tonne, located in Villié-Morgon in the heart of the Beaujolais region, is an emblematic family estate that embodies tradition and innovation. For several generations, it has been dedicated to producing authentic, living wines, with a strong commitment to organic and biodynamic farming. The domaine has established itself as one of the spearheads of the Beaujolais wine revival, promoting a respectful approach to vines and terroirs. The cuvées produced precisely reflect the identity of each parcel, offering elegant, fruity wines of great finesse.

Le Domaine de la Bonne Tonne covers 7 hectares in the Morgon appellation, one of the most prestigious in Beaujolais. This exceptional terroir produces wines of character, finesse and depth. The Morgon appellation benefits from a semi-continental climate, marked by warm summers and oceanic influences that bring freshness and balance to the wines. The soils are predominantly composed of decomposed granite, known locally as "roche pourrie" ("rotten rock"), which gives the wines a beautiful minerality and a unique aromatic complexity. This terroir gives rise to Morgons with great ageing potential, deep aromas and velvety textures.

Gamay à jus noir is the only grape variety used at the domaine de la Bonne Tonne for reds; the wines produced are low in sulfur, always elegant and digestible. A fine address offering superb value for money.

The organic wines from the domaine de la Bonne Tonne have very expressive fruit and possess lovely freshness.

Les cuvées du Domaine de la Bonne Tonne

Les Charmes is a supple, gourmet Morgon, a fine introduction to the domaine's wines.

Dame de coeur is the cuvée produced by Anne-Laure: it's elegant and charming, fruity and with a very delicate mouthfeel.

Côte de Py is a vibrant cuvée from the estate: spicy, racy and long-lived, it can be kept for 10 years without worry.

The cuvée Vieilles Vignes is deep and intense, with notes of stone fruits. We'd pair it with a fine lamb at Easter.

The cuvée Cléa is the Régnié, vinified without sulfur: with superb fruit, it requires 2 hours of decanting to open up!
