The Domaine Guillemot-Michel in a few words...

The Domaine Guillemot-Michel is a small, family-run, 6-hectare organic estate located in "Quintaine", between the villages of Viré and Clessé, in the heart of the Viré-Clessé appellation, one of the three crus of the Mâconnais. The vines were converted to organic viticulture in 1985, then to Biodynamic viticulture from 1991.

Since 2012, their daughter Sophie, now assisted by her husband Gautier, have been following the same path, gradually taking over management of the estate. The estate produces around 40,000 bottles each year, with few cuvées. Domaine Guillemot-Michel also produces top-flight spirits, including a fresh, elegant gin that's a must-taste.

At domaine Guillemot-michel, we pay close attention to the ripeness of the grapes: the wines are always gourmet, with notes of yellow fruit, but always retain a lovely freshness that makes them fine table companions.

All the vines come from selections massales, with an average age of 60 years. The estate has been organic for over thirty years, and certified biodynamic since 1992. The family has no fewer than four professional oenologists, which is probably a record! Their daughter Sophie joined them in 2013, after a stint at Hennessy that led her to now distill their own production on two 1942 wood-fired stills.
