Clos des Centenaires IGP d'oc - Red 2023
The bergerie rouge du Clos des Centenaires is a superb Costières de Nimes. This wine has a fleshy mouthfeel with notes of strawberry, cherry and white pepper, with supple tannins and lovely length.
CloseLe Clos des Centenaires is located in Vauvert, in the AOP Costières de Nimes. The genesis of the Les Centenaires project comes from the meeting between two winemakers sharing their passion for artisan wines and this Southern Rhône terroir: Luc Baudet and Bruno François.
The Clos des Centenaires covers 7 hectares of Villafranchian rolled pebble hillside. Located less than 2 km as the crow flies from the ponds of the Petite Camargue Nature Reserve and less than 20 km from the Mediterranean, the vineyard enjoys a uniquely mild and regular climate. Alternating prevailing winds (Mistral-type northerly) and thermal breezes (south-south-westerly, sea breezes) give rise to very early budburst and very temperate summers, resulting in a long period of gentle ripening of the grapes.
.
The grape varieties used for red wines are Grenache, Syrah, mourvèdre, carignon and Cinsault. Dry white wines, on the other hand, are made from roussane, marsanne, vermentino and viognier.
