Discover the magnificent Crémant d'Alsace du domaine Paul Ginglinger, all finesse!
The Appellation d'Origine Protégée (AOP) Crémant d'Alsace is a true benchmark in the world of French sparkling wines, renowned for its elegance, finesse and freshness. This AOP embodies the excellence of Alsatian viticulture and offers wine lovers a refined alternative to champagnes, with sparkling bubbles that celebrate the Alsatian art of living.
The Crémant d'Alsace is made using the traditional method, also known as the méthode champenoise, which involves a second fermentation in the bottle. This method, which involves natural foaming in the bottle, gives the wines a fine, persistent effervescence, as well as great aromatic complexity. Alsatian winemakers perpetuate this ancestral know-how with passion and rigor, adhering to strict quality criteria to guarantee the excellence of their crémants.
The terroir of the Crémant d'Alsace PDO is characterized by a variety of soils, from marl to sandstone to limestone, as well as a semi-continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. These unique geological and climatic conditions give the wines a great aromatic richness and incomparable freshness, which are found in every sip of Crémant d'Alsace.
Cremants d'Alsace are made from a blend of traditional Alsatian grape varieties, such as Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Each grape variety brings its own aromatic signature and structure to the final wine, enabling winemakers to create balanced, harmonious cuvées that appeal to connoisseurs the world over.
The Crémant d'Alsace PDO covers around 1,500 hectares of vineyards, spread across the entire Alsace wine-growing region. Each year, this PDO produces around 35 million bottles of Crémant d'Alsace, accounting for almost 25% of total sparkling wine production in France. Crémants d'Alsace come in a range of cuvées, from brut to demi-sec, rosé and vintage, offering a broad palette of flavors and aromas.
