A few words about Domaine de la Grosse Pierre...
The Domaine de la Grosse Pierre is located on the granite slopes of Chiroubles in the heart of the Beaujolais crus. Pauline Passot has been running this superb organic estate since the 2018 vintage. Pauline Passot was a sommelier at one of Lyon's top restaurants before returning to her family roots and taking over the Domaine de la Grosse Pierre, which she runs with great sensitivity.
The domaine de la Grosse Pierre extends over 9 ha of vines over three crus, which break down as follows: 7.7 ha of Chiroubles, available in four cuvées, 0.8 ha of Morgon and 0.5 ha of Fleurie. The natural wines produced are gourmet, well-balanced and reflect a fine sensibility. A fine estate in the making.
The vintages of Domaine de la Grosse Pierre follow one another and are similar in only one respect: the pertinent approach to the specificity of each year, with 2021 as the best proof, a superb vintage at Pauline Passot, all finesse and infusion
Guide RVF des Meilleurs Vins de France 2023 (Sept. 2022): In just a few vintages, Pauline Passot has succeeded in blazing her own trail, driven by a desire to highlight the terroirs of Chiroubles. She arrives serenely in the guide after a singular career path for the region: initially a sommelier in Lyon and Ireland, she perfected her knowledge of wines, but it was thanks to stays in New Zealand and Chile that she refined her knowledge of winemaking. Returning to the family domaine in 2016, she took over the entire estate in 2018 with a recipe that paid off: organic conversion, indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction, aging in concrete tanks. The aim is to bring out the different lieux-dits of Chiroubles. An estate to follow closely.

Les cuvées du domaine de la Grosse Pierre
The Chiroubles is a model Beaujolais wine: a supple, juicy and crisp Gamay, very digestible.
The fleurie du domaine de la Grosse Pierre has more substance, with still very nice red fruit notes. Good length
The Morgon Douby is characterized by a tighter substance and slightly spicier notes: a few months of waiting are doing it the world of good!
