Côtes Catalanes is a IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) covering a large part of Roussillon, in the Pyrénées-Orientales region. Between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenean foothills, this vineyard enjoys exceptional sunshine and a wide variety of soils: schist, granite, limestone and red clay.
The hot, dry Mediterranean climate is regulated by the tramontane, a powerful wind that naturally purifies the vines. This terroir gives rise to sunny, intense and expressive wines that reflect all the richness of this wine region with its strong Catalan identity.
The IGP Côtes Catalanes allows great freedom of grape varieties, offering a diversity of styles:
Organic red wines: made from Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre or Merlot, they display beautiful aromatic intensity. Ripe black fruits, Mediterranean spices and silky tannins make up generous, warm cuvées.
Organic white wines: often made from grape varieties such as Grenache Blanc, Macabeu or Vermentino, they offer freshness, minerality and aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus.
Organic rosé wines: fruity and gourmet, perfect for summer meals and Mediterranean cuisine.
Some estates also produce more atypical cuvées, thanks to the IGP, which authorizes less traditional grape varieties (Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat), for original and accessible wines.
