The Domaine de Laougué, nestled in the heart of the Madiran appellation, is an exceptional wine estate with an established reputation. Its unique terroir and passion for wine make it an unmissable destination for lovers of fine wines. Domaine de Laougué covers 25 hectares. The terroir is composed of clay-limestone soil with rolled pebbles (south-facing slopes), gravelly clay-loam substrates (draining, dry soil) and clay-loam soil (at the bottom of the slopes). The region is influenced by the ocean, with mild winters and hot summers. Rainfall, which is important for the vineyards, is well distributed in spring and autumn. Plenty of sunshine and moderate rainfall in summer are a key factor in grape ripeness.
For centuries, Domaine de Laougué has perpetuated the winegrowing tradition of southwestern France, in Viella, in the Pyrenean Piedmont. Nestled in the Hautes-Pyrénées, this family-run estate lovingly cultivates the Tannat grape variety, the symbol of the Madiran appellation.
