Domaine Laougué

The Domaine de Laougué, nestled in the heart of the Madiran appellation, is an exceptional wine estate with an established reputation. Its unique terroir and passion for wine make it an unmissable destination for lovers of fine wines. Domaine de Laougué covers 25 hectares. The terroir is composed of clay-limestone soil with rolled pebbles (south-facing slopes), gravelly clay-loam substrates (draining, dry soil) and clay-loam soil (at the bottom of the slopes). The region is influenced by the ocean, with mild winters and hot summers. Rainfall, which is important for the vineyards, is well distributed in spring and autumn. Plenty of sunshine and moderate rainfall in summer are a key factor in grape ripeness.

For centuries, Domaine de Laougué has perpetuated the winegrowing tradition of southwestern France, in Viella, in the Pyrenean Piedmont. Nestled in the Hautes-Pyrénées, this family-run estate lovingly cultivates the Tannat grape variety, the symbol of the Madiran appellation.

The Domaine de Laougué benefits from an exceptional terroir, made up of clay-limestone slopes bathed in the sunshine of southern France. This unique combination imparts incomparable aromatic richness and structure to the wines, making Domaine de Laougué a mainstay of the Madiran appellation.

At the helm of Domaine de Laougué is a team of winegrowers and winemakers.

At the head of Domaine de Laougué, the Dabadie family puts all their know-how to work in the vineyard. Domaine de Laougué AOP Madiran - Camy 2020

Camy 2020 du domaine de Laougué is a Madiran with great substance. This elegant wine develops on notes of very ripe red fruit (blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry) typical of tannat. Silky, smooth tannins on the palate. Spicy, toasty and finely woody notes on the finish. A fine introduction to this appellation.

Domaine de Laougué AOP Madiran - Marty 2020

We fell under the spell of this Marty cuvée from the domaine de Laougué. The nose develops notes of ripe stewed fruit, cherry, plum, nuanced by remarkably well-balanced spicy notes. The palate is full-bodied and well-coated, lined with lovely ripe fruit and silky, mellow tannins. The roasted notes brought on by barrel ageing blend harmoniously with the red fruit notes.
