Domaine de Trevallon

The Domaine de Trévallon, located on the northern slopes of the Alpilles mountains in Provence, is an emblematic vineyard renowned for its exceptional wines and its commitment to environmentally-friendly viticulture. Founded in 1973 by Éloi Dürrbach, the estate extends over 17 hectares of limestone soils, offering ideal conditions for growing vines.

The history of the Domaine de Trévallon began with René Dürrbach, a painter and sculptor close to figures such as Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger and Albert Gleizes. Attracted by the beauty of the Alpilles region, he acquired a property in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès in 1955. In 1973, his son Éloi Dürrbach decided to transform the land into a vineyard. With determination, he cleared the limestone hills to plant his first vines, laying the foundations for an estate that would become legendary.

The vignoble de Trévallon is planted on a unique terroir composed of very stony clay-limestone soils, characteristic of the Alpilles. This arid, rocky soil gives the wines a distinctive minerality and remarkable finesse. From the outset, Éloi Dürrbach has adopted an organic approach, refusing the use of pesticides or insecticides, and favoring viticulture that respects the natural balance of the ecosystem.

The Domaine de Trévallon is renowned for its red and white wines, each reflecting the singularity of the terroir and the expertise of the Dürrbach family.

The estate's red wines are made from an atypical blend for the region, composed of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. This combination gives the wines a complex structure, blending aromas of black fruits, spices and hints of garrigue. Aged in foudres for 24 months, these wines possess remarkable ageing potential, developing subtle aromas of cigar box, graphite, liquorice and truffle over time.

The white wine from Domaine de Trévallon is made from Roussanne, Marsanne and a touch of Chardonnay. This wine is distinguished by its aromatic richness, offering notes of white flowers, citrus and a refreshing minerality. Its complexity and freshness make it a wine appreciated by connoisseurs and recognized for its ability to accompany a variety of foods.

A notable feature of Domaine de Trévallon is its labels, the work of René Dürrbach. Since 1996, each vintage has sported a unique label, reflecting the family's artistic heritage and reinforcing the link between art and wine.

Over the decades, Domaine de Trévallon has established itself as one of Provence's most prestigious producers, enjoying an international reputation. Its wines are acclaimed for their exceptional quality, ageing capacity and faithful expression of terroir. This recognition testifies to the Dürrbach family's unwavering commitment to excellence and authenticity.
