The Corton-Charlemagne is a renowned dry white wine from Burgundy; it is produced from Chardonnay on the slopes of the Corton mountain. This prestigious wine is considered one of the finest white wines in Burgundy and the world.
The Corton-Charlemagne vineyard covers an area of 52 hectares and is located on the slopes of the Corton hill, in the Côte de Beaune. The soil in this region is mainly limestone, giving the wines a distinctive minerality. The grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is aged in oak barrels for around 18 months before bottling.
The Corton-Charlemagne is a rich, complex white wine, with aromas of white fruit, butter, hazelnut and honey. On the palate, it's fresh, mineral and elegant, with a silky texture and a long, lingering finish. This wine can be enjoyed young, but is also capable of aging for several years, developing more complex aromas and a richer texture.
