AOC Rasteau

AOC Rasteau is quite recent for red wines, as it obtained the label in 2010. However, AOC Rasteau has also been producing vins doux naturels with AOC since 1944.

Rasteau red wines are only produced in the commune of Rasteau, while Vins Doux Naturels de Rasteau can be produced in the communes of Cairanne, Rasteau and Sablet, in the Vaucluse.

Rasteau wines

Rasteau red wines are mainly made from Grenache, with Mourvèdre and Syrah used as complementary grape varieties.

Rasteau sweet natural wines are made mainly from grenache, grenache gris or grenache blanc.

The Rasteau vineyard covers 733 hectares.

The red wines are powerful, fruity, with notes of black fruit, cocoa and smoke. They are particularly well-suited to game, meats in sauce, but also chocolate desserts.
