The Domaine de la Pointe is a vineyard located in Capbreton, Landes. It is situated on a unique terroir of shifting sands and dunes, which gives it very special characteristics. The first vines were planted in Capbreton in the 12th century. The vineyard reached its peak in the 16th century, producing over 10,000 hectolitres a year. But in the 18th century, the vineyard began to decline, due to competition from Bordeaux wines and the phylloxera crisis.
.Today, Domaine de la Pointe is the only vineyard in Capbreton. It covers 5 hectares and is planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc vines. The estate is farmed organically.
The wines of Domaine de la Pointe are Landes appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) white and red wines. They are characterized by their freshness, minerality and salinity.
