AOC Latricières-Chambertin

The Appellation d'Origine Protégée (AOP) Latricières-Chambertin is one of the nine prestigious Grand Cru appellations of Gevrey-Chambertin, located in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits region. Renowned for its powerful, complex red wines, this appellation embodies the elegance and depth of great Burgundy wines.

Latricières-Chambertin is a 7.35-hectare vineyard located just south of Chambertin, one of Burgundy's most famous vineyards. The Latricières-Chambertin terroir is distinguished by its well-drained limestone and marl soils, which are perfect for the Pinot Noir grape variety. The region's continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters, allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, favoring optimal expression of aromas and tannic structure.

The wines of the Latricières-Chambertin PDO are made exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape variety. They are characterized by their depth, complexity and exceptional aging capacity. Typical aromas include notes of red fruit (cherry, raspberry), black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant), as well as floral (violet), spicy (pepper, licorice) and woody (cedar, vanilla) nuances. On the palate, the wines are powerful, structured and balanced, with fine, silky tannins, refreshing acidity and remarkable length.

The Latricières-Chambertin PDO covers an area of 7.35 hectares, producing a limited quantity of wine each year, which contributes to its rarity and prestige. Annual production is around 200 hectolitres, or 26,000 bottles. This restricted production allows the winemakers to focus on quality and maintain high standards.

AOP Latricières-Chambertin wines are renowned for their powerful structure and elegance. Their aging capacity is exceptional, with vintages that can evolve magnificently for several decades. These wines are often described as having unrivalled aromatic complexity and depth, perfectly reflecting the unique terroir of Latricières-Chambertin. In gastronomic terms, they pair superbly with rich, savory dishes such as game, roasted meats and mature cheeses.
