Domaine de Courbissac

The Domaine de Courbissac is one of the flagship estates of the Minervois. The Domaine de Courbissac, located in the heart of the Minervois appellation, embodies the authenticity and diversity of Languedoc terroirs. The estate follows in the tradition of the great wines of the South, while taking a modern, environmentally-friendly approach. Created with the aim of revealing the potential of the Minervois region, it has rapidly established itself as a key player in the region. Since its takeover, the estate has focused on organic and biodynamic viticulture, in perfect harmony with its natural environment. The diversity of the terroirs and the meticulous work in the cellar enable us to produce deep, well-balanced wines of great elegance. Each cuvée tells a story, reflecting the richness of the soil, climate and ancestral know-how handed down from generation to generation.

The Domaine de Courbissac covers 15 hectares, spread between the Minervois plain and the foothills of the Montagne Noire. This exceptional location offers a varied terroir, allowing the grape varieties to fully express their typicity.

The Minervois appellation benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers punctuated by cool breezes from the Montagne Noire. These thermal contrasts enable the grapes to ripen slowly, guaranteeing an ideal balance between aromatic concentration and freshness.

The estate rests on a mosaic of soils, ranging from fissured limestone to sandy-clay marl, sandstone and rolled pebbles. This diversity confers aromatic richness and mineral depth to the wines, while giving them a natural acidity. The more chalky soils offer a tighter, more elegant structure, while the sandy-clay soils favor softer, fruitier wines.

The Courbissac estate is run by Reinhard Brundig and Brunnhilde Claux, who successively fell in love with this singular place; for over 15 years they have been revealing the potential of the Courbissac terroir.

The organic wines they produce are singular, profound and represent excellent value for money.

With absolute respect for the terroir, the estate applies the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, promoting living, sustainable viticulture. Thanks to this approach, the Domaine de Courbissac produces expressive wines, faithfully reflecting the Minervois identity and the imprint of each vintage.

La cuvée les Traverses is an accessible, gourmet red wine from the Minervois region, featuring notes of black fruits.

The orange wine from Domaine de Courbissac is light and fruity, easily accessible

The Farradjales cuvée is made from the estate's old Cinsault grapes, an atypical Minervois that's round, fruity and supple.

Roc du Pière for its part is a powerful, racy red wine, a fine example given by the Courbissac estate of what a great Minervois for ageing can be.
