The Fixin PDO in a few words
The Fixin PDO is a French PDO, located in the Burgundy region, in the Côte-d'Or department. It produces red and white wines from vines on the hills of Fixin and Brochon.
The Fixin appellation was created in 1936 and covers an area of around 100 hectares. The appellation's vineyards are located on clayey-limestone and clayey-siliceous soils, which contribute to the complexity and depth of the wines produced in this region.
The red wines of AOP Fixin are produced from Pinot Noir, while the white wines are made from Chardonnay. The red wines are generally quite powerful and structured, developing on notes of red fruit and spices, while the white wines are fresh and mineral, with aromas of yellow fruit and floral notes.
