Domaine des Homs

The Domaine des Homs in a few words...

The Domaine des Homs is a winegrowing estate in the heart of the Languedoc region at the foot of the Montagne Noire, in the Minervois Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée zone.It is situated on a sandy-silt-schist plateau. The domaine's terroir does not suffer from water stress. The Domaine des Homs vineyard comprises 15 hectares of AOC Minervois and 8 hectares of Vin de Pays.

The entire vineyard of the Domaine des Homs has been worked according to organic farming principles since 2006, with the aim of creating harmony between the vine, the soil and its direct environment.

Jean-Marc De Crozals has produced organic wines of great balance on this Minervois terroir characterized by a windy Mediterranean climate. In addition to these efforts in the vineyard, in 2018 Domaine des Homs invested in a half-muid barrel cellar, with controlled temperature and hygrometry. The 400- and 500-liter barrels allow for mellow woodiness and gain in elegance on the range's fine cuvées.

If you'd like to discover the estate, gîtes can be rented by the week. A great way to visit the region.

Discover other great Languedoc organic wines with the Domaine de Courbissac in Minervois, the Mas Haut-Buis, the Mas Jullien, the Mas des Brousses and the Domaine des Soulanes, the Domaine de la Croix Gratiot, the Domaine Maxime Magnon on Corbières or even the Domaine d'Agarrus.

Les cuvées du domaine des Homs

We particularly appreciate the finesse of Domaine des homs' organic wines in the Minervois.

The viognier is of rare balance, for a grape known to be sometimes heavy. It develops notes of peach and exotic fruit, but also benefits from superb balance.

La cuvée Paul is a great bargain: a wise price but lots of complexity; a cuvée that will go a long way and will benefit from being cellared for a few years. This is a cuvée made from 70% Syrah, which gives it bewitching spicy notes.

The chardonnay du domaine des homs is a superb value for money, versatile organic wine with a lovely directness. With a tension rare for the region, this organic wine is a reference for those who love this grape but don't want to break the bank.

Clos de Pals is a supple, gourmet Minervois that will go well with a wide range of dishes. It is composed of grenache and syrah.

L'amandier du domaine des Homs is a fruity wine, 100% cinsault: supple, gourmand, it develops on notes of red berries. Drink it slightly chilled, it's a treat!

The Gravières de Sancastel are a fine cuvée for laying down, predominantly Syrah: peppery, powerful and long, this is a cuvée to forget for a few years.
