Domaine Michel Redde

The Domaine Michel Redde is a winery located in Pouilly-sur-Loire, France. It is run by Michel Redde and his two sons, Sébastien and Romain. The estate was founded in 1920 by Michel Redde, the current owner's grandfather. Nestled on the slopes of Pouilly-sur-Loire, Domaine Michel Redde benefits from a unique terroir of limestone and clay-silica soils. This combination offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Sauvignon Blanc, the flagship grape variety of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, and enables the production of wines of great finesse and elegance.

The Domaine Michel Redde & Fils, located in Pouilly-sur-Loire, is a true benchmark for Pouilly-Fumé enthusiasts. For several generations, this family of winemakers has been perpetuating exceptional know-how, bringing out the purest expression of Sauvignon Blanc. With plots located on the finest terroirs of Pouilly-Fumé, Domaine Michel Redde produces wines of great precision, where minerality, freshness and aromatic finesse are the key words. Strongly attached to the notion of terroir, each cuvée expresses its own identity, testifying to the unique link between soil, climate and grape variety.

The Domaine Michel Redde & Fils covers 42 hectares, planted exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc, the emblematic grape variety of the Pouilly-Fumé appellation. The Pouilly-Fumé vineyards benefit from a semi-continental climate, with marked seasons and a moderating influence from the Loire. This climate favors slow, gradual ripening of the grapes, resulting in well-balanced, aromatically complex wines.

The estate's varied soils lend a unique richness to the wines:

Kimmeridgian marl, which brings a beautiful roundness and ample texture, caillottes (Jurassic limestone), giving taut and mineral wines, very pure and flint, which gives wines a characteristic smoky note and great longevity.

The Michel Redde estate produces white wines from the Sauvignon grape variety. The vines are located on limestone and flint terroirs, which give the wines their unique character. The estate produces two main cuvées:

Pouilly-Fumé La Moynerie: This cuvée is produced from a parcel-by-parcel selection of vines aged 20 to 25 years. It is vinified and aged in oak barrels for 10 to 12 months. The wine's expressive nose combines citrus and white fruit aromas with a subtle hint of smoke. On the palate, it offers beautiful fullness, invigorating freshness and a long, mineral finish.

Petit F Pouilly-Fumé: This cuvée is produced from vines aged 10 to 15 years. It is vinified in vats and aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months. It offers a fresh, fruity nose, dominated by notes of citrus, white peach and a light floral touch. On the palate, this wine is greedy, balanced and very easy to drink.

The wines of the domaine Michel Redde are appreciated for their finesse, freshness and minerality.
