The Vincent Careme estate in a nutshell....
Vincent Carême is a young winemaker who cut his teeth in South Africa. He settled in Vouvray in 1999 and owns 17 hectares of vines. Respectful of nature and his terroir, Vincent's aim is to produce straightforward, pure wines. One of the selection's favorites. Vincent and his wife Tania bring out the best in Chenin, the emblematic grape variety of the Loire Valley. In this terroir of Vouvray, on the right bank of the Loire opposite Montlouis, Domaine Vincent Careme brings out the fruit and minerality of the region's wines. These organic gourmet wines are perfect for an entire meal, from the aperitif with the bubbly, to foie gras with the Tendre, to dry Vouvray for fish and cheese. Domaine Vincent Careme wines have excellent cellaring potential.
The Vouvray appellation is marked by a temperate oceanic climate with a continental influence, enabling slow, optimal ripening of Chenin Blanc. This particularity gives the wines a natural freshness and balanced acidity, essential for their longevity.
The domaine Vincent Carême has made its mark thanks to a respectful approach to terroir and exemplary organic viticulture. With meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar, Vincent Carême produces wines of great purity, which faithfully reflect the identity of Chenin Blanc, Vouvray's emblematic grape variety. This grape variety is expressed in different ways: dry, semi-dry, sweet and sparkling, offering an exceptionally rich palette of aromas. Domaine Vincent Carême's vineyards are located on the clay-limestone and clay-silica slopes of Vouvray, benefiting from an ideal climate for viticulture.
Vincent Carême has opted for organic farming since the creation of his estate. His viticultural practices emphasize respect for the soil and biodiversity: manual work of the vines and ploughing of the soil to encourage deep rooting, no chemical herbicides or pesticides, ensuring pure, healthy wines, manual harvesting, enabling rigorous selection of the grapes, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, preserving the authenticity of the terroir.
Thanks to its commitment to natural wines and its meticulous approach, Domaine Vincent Carême is now recognized in France and internationally. Its wines are regularly acclaimed by critics and featured on the finest gourmet tables. The domaine perfectly embodies the new generation of Loire winemakers, combining tradition and innovation to produce lively, elegant wines with strong ageing potential.

Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2024 (RVF) about Domaine Vincent Careme. Domaine 1 étoile (out of 3): "meticulous organic work means healthy, bright grapes in the cellar. This forty-something tends towards increasingly dry wines, but his little moriers and tenders energetically integrate residual sugars, offering saline, sapid whites. The cursor is pushed even further with the start of biodynamic treatments; the aging in old barrels is more and more precise."
