Château Tire-Pé in a few words...
The terroir of château Tire-Pé is exceptional, situated on the top of clay-limestone slopes, overlooking the Garonne River by 80 meters,. Facing due south and cultivated in the most natural way possible, it offers great potential for quality. A nod to history: the Côte de Tire-Pé owes its name to an everyday agricultural scene, well known to the locals, in which the pack animals would relieve themselves of their exertions on the way up to the estate, by pulling the fart. A château coup de cœur to be discovered urgently.
The Château Tire-pé has chosen to produce red wines distinguished by terroir, vine age, grape variety, blending, vinification and ageing. The growing method on the estate is organic (for 5 years, official Ecocert conversion from 2011).
The Cuvée Tire-pé is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the best parcels. The wine is supple and dense, with aromas of fruit and licorice. It can be kept for up to 5 years. Tirevinvite is a magnificent 100% merlot cuvée with no added sulfur, but endowed with bursting fruit: nature at this level, we love it!
La Côte was the grand cuvée of château Tire-Pé. Made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the wine has a tight, elegant frame. The wine is complex, with spicy and fruity aromas.
Nomade is a rare and convincing pinot d'aunis, finely spiced! We love it!
Echappée is made from old, forgotten Bordeaux grape varieties, a real discovery!
Don't miss out on the estate's cuvée 100% Malbec, intense and fragrant!
Prices for château Tire-Pé have remained very reasonable. Don't hesitate to take advantage of them!
Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2020: "Located on hillsides in the southern Langonnais region, this small estate is run with care and passion by Hélène and David Barrault. This young couple has given new life to this terroir by taking over a heritage of old vines, with a not inconsiderable proportion of Cabernet Franc and a touch of Malbec, which can, depending on the vintage, be the subject of a cuvée truly worth the detour. These organic wines are superbly fruity, with a texture and depth rarely found in this sector! (...)superb fruity wines, with a texture and depth rarely found in this sector."
Bettane et Dessauve 2018: "an astonishing estate that produces authentic wines, frankly fruity, tasty, racy, natural, full of personality, in short stunning"
