Domaine Cosse et Maisonneuve

The Domaine Cosse et Maisonneuve, located in the heart of the Cahors appellation, is one of the most emblematic estates of the revival of this wine region. Founded by Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve, this estate has established itself as a benchmark thanks to its demanding approach and commitment to organic and biodynamic farming. Thanks to meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar, Cosse et Maisonneuve produce wines of great purity, faithful to their terroir and the identity of Cahors' emblematic grape variety, Malbec. Deeply committed to respectful viticulture, they craft exceptional cuvées combining power, finesse and balance.

The Domaine Cosse et Maisonneuve covers 25 hectares, spread over several terroirs in the Cahors appellation. These parcels benefit from ideal conditions for producing racy, complex wines.

The Cahors vineyard is marked by a semi-continental climate with oceanic influences, which guarantees slow, gradual ripening of the grapes. This climate favors the expression of Malbec, giving it structure and elegance. The soils are mainly composed of Kimmeridgian limestone, clay and gravel, which give the wines a beautiful minerality and remarkable freshness. This diversity makes it possible to produce wines with a wide range of profiles, from the softest to the most structured.

The estate is certified organic and biodynamic, applying principles that respect living organisms and the environment.

The Domaine Cosse et Maisonneuve is today recognized as one of Cahors' finest producers. Its wines are regularly praised by critics and present on the finest gastronomic tables in France and internationally.

Some of the estate's cuvées:

Ideal for convivial moments, it goes perfectly with grilled meats, Mediterranean dishes or artisanal charcuterie.

Le Combal is a cuvée that showcases accessible, elegant Malbec. This wine, made from young vines grown on clay-limestone soils, reveals intense aromas of red and black fruits, accompanied by spicy and floral notes. On the palate, it offers a silky texture and freshness, with a persistent, well-balanced finish. Easy to drink in its youth, it nevertheless retains fine ageing potential.

Le Petit Sid is a wine that combines freshness and elegance, perfect for discovering a more delicate side of Malbec. Its expressive nose combines notes of red berries, redcurrants and a subtle touch of sweet spices. On the palate, it has a lovely liveliness with a supple structure and delicate tannins that give it great drinkability.

Les Laquets is an emblematic cuvée of the estate, from vines aged over 40 years. This deep, structured wine reveals powerful aromas of blackberry, cassis and licorice, with a subtle mineral touch provided by the chalky soil. The palate is full and dense, carried by fine, silky tannins that ensure great length and harmonious evolution over the years.
