AOP Pic Saint-Loup

The Pic-Saint-Loup PDO in a nutshell

Pic-Saint-Loup is a wine-growing region in the Languedoc region of southern France, not far from Montpeliier. Pic-Saint-Loup wine is produced mainly from red grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Pic-Saint-Loup red wine is renowned for being full-bodied, fruity and elegant, with aromas of red fruits, spices and garrigue. It can be enjoyed young, but is also known for its ability to age.

The Pic-Saint-Loup terroir is bounded by the mountains of the Cévennes range to the north, the plains of the Mediterranean to the south and the city of Montpellier to the east. The Pic-Saint-Loup terroir is characterized by a soil composed of limestone, clay and schist, as well as a Mediterranean climate, albeit the rainiest in the region, which brings balance and freshness to the wines. The vines are planted in terraces on steep slopes that offer excellent sun exposure and air circulation.

Pic-Saint-Loup organic wines are in the spotlight at ardoneo with a wide selection of organic and natural wines from Domaine Mirabel, Clos Marie, Chemin des rêves, but also from Mas Bruguière or l'Ermitage du Pic.

The Pic-Saint-Loup terroir is quite diverse, with estates working for some on freshness, others on concentration. This historic Languedoc appellation produces mostly charming, gourmand and sunny wines. These are fine gourmet wines!
