Chateau La Lagune is a winery located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux wine region in France.
Chateau La Lagune has a long history dating back to the 18th century. It was classified as a Third Grand Cru in the official Bordeaux wine classification of 1855. La Lagune has undergone several changes of ownership over the years. In 1999, it was acquired by the Frey family, who also own other wine estates, including Château La Dominique in Saint-Émilion.
La Lagune boasts a vineyard of around 80 hectares, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The soils are composed of gravel, typical of the Médoc region. Château la Lagune is farmed organically.
The wines of Château La Lagune are made using traditional winemaking methods. They are aged in oak barrels, contributing to the complexity and structure of the wines.
