François Plouzeau runs the biodynamic Domaine de la Garrelière in southern Touraine. François loves his vines and his Touraine terroir. He produces magnificent wines at Domaine de la Garrelière, while remaining very wise on price. Domaine de la Garrelière is one of the best value-for-money wines in the Touraine AOC, with a beautiful, coherent range of white and red wines. The wines are low in sulfur and as close to terroir as possible. François Plouzeau intervenes as little as possible in the winemaking process to let terroir and fruit express themselves as freely as possible.

The grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness to deliver wines devoid of any oenological artifice. Bursting with fruit, the single-varietal whites from Chenin and Sauvignon offer a great sincerity of flavor. The fleshiness of the red Cinabre (Cabernet Franc) is appealing, and its concentration is comparable to that of certain Chinons. The energy and harmony exuded by these wines lead us to award the domaine its first star."
