Domaine de La Belle - AOP Côtes de Duras - La Belle Amoureuse 2019

Domaine de La Belle is a small family-owned vineyard located in Loubès-Bernac, within the Côtes de Duras appellation, near Bordeaux and Bergerac. In 2002, Delphine and Gilles Vazeux took on an ambitious challenge by settling on this estate: Gilles, a researcher and Ph.D. in biochemistry, chose to become a winemaker, applying his innovative and intuitive scientific approach to both viticulture and winemaking.

Together, they cultivate about ten hectares using organic farming methods, divided equally between white grape varieties (Sauvignon Blanc and Gris, old Sémillon, Chenin, and Ugni Blanc) and reds (Malbec, primarily Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon). Located about 100 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, the Duras vineyard benefits from an oceanic influence that gives it a climate with less rainfall and, overall, warmer temperatures than the neighboring Bordeaux region—with soils and subsoils of marine origin, formed by the vast sedimentary upheavals that shaped the region.

With sincerity and a commitment to their principles, Delphine and Gilles have crafted blends that are consistent in quality and flavor, as exemplified by La Belle Amoureuse: an original wine that balances fruit and freshness on the one hand, and roundness and power on the other.
