The Rouge Garance domaine in a few words...
The domaine Rouge Garance is one of the most interesting estates in the Rhône Valley in the sense that the domaine always produces very well-balanced wines, full of freshness, despite the pesky sun. Claudie Cortellini works miracles with both reds and whites, producing fine, elegant organic wines.
The soils are argillaceous.
The soils are clay-limestone for the reds and stony spreading clay-limestone for the whites. All harvesting and sorting is done by hand.
The grapes are harvested by hand.
Blanc de Garance, Feuille de Garance and Garance are three sure-fire Côtes du Rhône values produced by the Rouge Garance estate
.Feuille de Garance is a fruity, aromatic, fairly supple Cotes-du-Rhone with a lovely freshness.
Garance is more powerful, more complex and longer on the palate. 3-4 years of cellaring will do it good.
Blanc de Garance is a magnificent dry, fruity white: ideal with citrus scallops, for example.
Little Garance is the buddy wine for example, supple, light and greedy, it is to be served for meals with friends.
Rouge Garange is more structured: based on syrah, this estate cuvée deserves a few years of cellaring to develop all its notes of spices and violets.
